Ballet Drop-in Classes (All Levels: Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate and advanced).
The ballet technique, first originated in the Italian renaissance, has evolved throught the centuries. It began to gradually become a professional art in the 17th century in France. Now a days there are ballet companies all over the world and ballet technique is also very much used as a support training by dancers of other dance styles as well as it is growing in popularity among amateur dancers.
The lessons offer a fresh and versatile approach that respect the traditional foundations of the ballet technique but explore also creative ways to combine the ballet steps and search for rich possibilities of combining the dance secuences with the musical phrases. The classes also are of a great help to improve coordination, agility, posture, strength, flexibility and a precise control of the different movement dynamics.
Silvia Vergés graduated in ballet in 1994 in Barcelona, Spain, then worked for nine years in Ballet de Euskadi, in the National Opera in Mexico and National Theatre Mannheim, Germany. In 2003 she moved to London to study at London Contemporary Dance School, gaining a MA. Along her dance career, she has practiced intensively somatic techniques such as Pilates, Feldenkrais and Klein among others. She has been working in Finland since 2007.
